TTC Pension Plan

The Toronto Transit Commission Pension Fund Society (PFS) was incorporated in 1940. Today, it is known as the TTC Pension Plan (TTCPP). It is a defined benefit pension plan that provides members with a secure retirement income for life. The rebrand involved establishing a strong and consistent corporate presence that is distinguished from other pension plans by repositioning PFS as a timeless, contemporary organization.

During my time at Certo Creative, I assisted with developing a new creative direction for TTCPP, starting with a refreshed logo. I also designed various assets such as corporate stationery, the website, promo materials, a launch video, pitch deck templates and custom illustrations.

—Logo
The horizontal nature of the logo is reminiscent of the elongated shapes we associate with TTC vehicles, while the uniquely shaped 'Block' can provoke additional ideas. It acts as a window, through which we see the individual characters it is transporting.
—Stationery
The stationery pieces resonate with the corporate yet friendly tone of the brand. The business card and pocket folder borrow the curved lower edge of the 'Block' to create a further tie-in with the logo.

—Launch Video
The new branding is unveiled through this animated launch video which introduces the mission, vision and values of TTCPP, along with its five key pillars: Sustainability, Accountability, Communication, Knowledge, and Professionalism. As the video would be playing on-screen in a setting where people come and go, the challenge was to create something attention grabbing yet informative.

—Website

TTCPP.ca is a responsive website where TTC employees can learn more about their plan membership and life in retirement. Some key features of the site include a number of case studies pertaining to a variety of employment situations, a pension estimator and all necessary forms and resources in one place. The design ensures WCAG compliance and includes custom illustrations and photography sprinkled throughout.
