GMB Architecture

GMB Architecture (formerly known as Guthrie Muscovitch Architects) is a Toronto-based design firm, founded in 1988. Their repertoire of work include sites as small as a single-family lot, as broad as city precincts, and as diverse as large-scale condominiums, seniors housing, resorts and entire new subdivisions.

At Certo Creative, I worked on developing and presenting branding concepts that reflected the desired personality of the new identity: vibrant, modern and structural. Once a concept was chosen, I rolled out all other necessary print and digital assets, ensuring that a cohesive look and feel was maintained throughout.

The elongated letterforms of 'gmb' are inspired by the vertical nature of buildings. The stamp-like composition gives mark dominance, establishing legitimacy while the rounded edges of the shapes help to maintain a degree of friendliness. Lowercase lettering is used as a nod to the firms' specialization in low-rise properties.
